I Need to Learn

Is it true that if a mother does not sleep at night because of caring of her sick child, that her pahala is similar to freeing 70 slaves?

I am ignorant and need to learn. I need guidance and direction. So help me God, and those of you out there?

H's cousin Abang Rizal helped out by sending some materials for me to study. Thanks Abang Rizal, I appreciate them! Although I am ashamed to say that I have not managed to go through all of them yet, I can honestly say I'm starting to make progress with my life, Insyaallah :)

But progress and learning should be continuous. Lollies, ada any advise tak? Where should I start this religious/spiritual quest?

A mother indeed gets a lot of pahala from raising her children. A form of Ibadah indeed. If only I knew better, I wouldn't have complained so much about that first year when Gibran was always ill and we feared we'd lose him every time he was sick.

So there. All the more reason for this much needed quest.

A then-ill Gibran reaching out to Mummy.

May i suggest you the Ideal Muslimah book by Dr Muhammad Ali al hashimi. It covers various topics and slowly we can make research for each topic. I find it easier to do it this way. Kalau too much content of just one go make me go crazy. I lah tapik. tee he he.

in the class that i go to we are reviewing this book. soe topics they run through aje and some topics very much in depth.

I believe it is availaible in MPH.

Another thing, it's good to relearn about tawheed. It's a start to learn about Allah and learn to love him. But stay away from deviations and strange teachings. Can I sugegst you a book by Dr Bilal Philips on Fundamental of tawheed.

May we all remain in the straight path and be guided by Allah.

Eh I ni budak baru belajar tau. let's do this together.

eh what a boring advise.

First of all you have already started that quest by asking about it. Our deeds are multiplied by our niyat and sincerity along with the faith to Allah.

Honestly my quest begins because I fear for my children's future. Mothers are their pivotal point. Learning what to teach them, help me relearn myself. kat sini tak ada sek agama (I am thankful for that actually), so to teach them I have to learn.

I pray that Allah makes it easy for us.

Masya Allah!! Do share with me your tawheed (or any class for that matter) class. Because I have never been one in Malaysia. :(

lollies; take a look at http://islamiclearningcentre.com/

i go once a week but am hoping i'd get to go more often soon. am trying to figure out which class to attend next and arrange child-care for gibran and the maid ;)

they're not exactly proper classes with tests and stuff like that, but they do provide materials and we can ask questions on stuff we dont understand, and i'm just glad there's a place like this here, and so nearby to our house too.

there're quite a few classes for adults around here now, tapi i'm being extra careful on my choices. frankly, there're lots of "deviations" here that are not based on quran and sunnah. so one has to be extra careful kan. ada sorang ustazah ni who owns a madrasah that i attended when i was small, and she gives adult classes too, but i still remember some of the ustazahs in the madrasah telling us stuff like "setan will pray on the sejadah if we leave it laying around" and also some inappropriate stuff that i'd rather not go into. so yeah! such is the dilemma i'm facing. nak pilih class tak sure class mana yg betol ajarannya.
